COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the ability to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and perform choking relief in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

This course is essential for healthcare professionals who need to perform CPR and other lifesaving skills in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

COURSE CONTENT

• Key updates in basic life support, based on the latest American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines
• Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
• Understanding the AHA Chain of Survival
• 1-Rescuer and 2-Rescuer CPR & AED techniques for adults, children, and infants
• Differences between adult, child, and infant rescue techniques
• Bag-mask ventilation for all age groups
• Rescue breathing and choking relief for adults, children, and infants
• CPR with an advanced airway

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an official AHA e-card as proof of completion.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

For individuals not employed by HMH, the fee is $75.00.
